What is glow in the dark tape?
Glow (luminous) tape contains a photoluminescent layer that absorbs light and releases it slowly in the dark. It needs no power and no wiring — you charge it simply by leaving the lights on. That makes it the simplest way to mark stairs, exit routes, switches and equipment so they stay findable during a blackout or in a dim room.
Glow tape vs reflective tape — which do you need?
| Glow tape | Reflective tape | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs light source | No — glows on its own after charging | Yes — needs headlights or a torch |
| Best for | Stairs, exits, indoor safety, decor, crafts | Vehicles, worksites, road & hazard marking |
| Works in total darkness | Yes, for a few hours per charge | Only when light hits it |
| Typical setting | Indoors, sheltered areas | Outdoors, industrial, wet conditions |

Common uses in Singapore
- • HDB stairwells, corridors and bomb shelter doors during power outages
- • Exit routes, switch plates and fire equipment marking in offices and warehouses
- • Bicycle, PMD and helmet visibility strips for night riding
- • Ranger eyes and arc-of-fire markers for NS and outfield use
- • Stage, theatre and event floor markings
- • Crafts, model-making, aquarium and Halloween decoration
How to get the brightest glow
- Clean and dry the surface before sticking — dust is the main cause of peeling.
- Press firmly along the full length so the adhesive bonds evenly.
- Charge for at least 15–20 minutes under bright light before you expect a strong glow.
- Use wider tape (3.0cm–5.0cm) where the marking must be seen from further away.
Lab test reports & certifications
Our flagship safety tape is independently tested for elite photoluminescent performance and chemical safety. The laboratory reports below represent the performance of our Green Glow in the Dark Tape (Model C401), which has been engineered to yield results that far exceed the minimum visibility thresholds of major international safety codes.
1Photoluminescent performance (DIN 67510-1)
Measurement performed in accordance with DIN 67510 Part 1 using an LMT Lichtmess Technik photometer at Zhejiang Caiyuan testing facility.
- Date of test
- 24 June 2024, 14:15
- Device
- Photometer 06A632.B520
- Illuminance
- E = 998.7 lx
- Temperature
- 26°C
| Time after charge | Luminance |
|---|---|
| 2 minutes | 781 mcd/m² |
| 10 minutes | 162.5 mcd/m² |
| 30 minutes | 45.6 mcd/m² |
| 60 minutes | 20.1 mcd/m² |
| 120 minutes | 8.8 mcd/m² |
| 2,261 minutes (~37.7 h) | 0.3 mcd/m² (decay time) |
The Green Glow in the Dark Tape's 10-minute luminance of 162.5 mcd/m² exceeds the 15.0 mcd/m² baseline required by standard marine and industrial safety codes. The material remains detectable to the human eye in total darkness for over 37 hours after a full charge.
2Chemical & phthalates test (GC-MS)
Testing conducted via GC-MS following EPA 3550C:2007 & 8270E:2018 methods by Jiangsu HAP Testing Service Co., Ltd.

Global Safety Standards & Performance Benchmarks
Our Green Glow in the Dark Tape has been independently tested in accordance with DIN 67510 Part 1. The resulting luminance data (162.5 mcd/m² at 10 minutes and 20.1 mcd/m² at 60 minutes) vastly exceeds the baseline visibility requirements for emergency egress and safety markings across multiple industries.
Based on our official lab data, our Green Glow in the Dark Tape's photometric performance easily satisfies the minimum luminance thresholds required by:
- •Maritime & Offshore Escape Routes: IMO A.752(18), ISO 15370, SOLAS Ch. II-2 & III
- •Commercial Building Safety: ISO 16069, ISO 3864-4, DIN 67510
- •US Fire & Building Codes: ASTM E2072 / E2073, NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), IBC/IFC Section 1025, and NYC Local Law 26 (RS 6-1)
(Disclaimer: While our material's performance exceeds the technical luminance requirements of these standards, buyers requiring specific maritime Class Approvals, Type Approvals, or local fire marshal certifications should verify their exact documentation requirements with their surveyor or safety officer. Safety standards and benchmark data checked as of August 2026.)
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy glow in the dark tape in Singapore?
Titan Tape holds ready stock in Singapore. You can order on Shopee or Lazada, or message us on WhatsApp to buy direct at 10% below marketplace prices, with self-collection at Bukit Panjang or same-day islandwide delivery.
How long does glow in the dark tape glow for?
Our luminous tape charges under any light source — sunlight, ceiling lights or a torch. After a full charge it glows brightest in the first 20–30 minutes and stays visible in a dark room for several hours, then recharges again the next time the lights are on.
Which colour glow tape is brightest?
Green is the brightest and the classic choice for safety marking. Blue and orange glow more softly and are usually chosen for decoration, staging and creative projects. Holographic tape adds an iridescent rainbow shine under light plus a green glow in the dark.
Does glow in the dark tape work outdoors and in wet areas?
Yes. The tape is fade-resistant with heavy-duty adhesive and sticks to wall, metal, plastic and wood. For heavy outdoor traffic or vehicle marking, reflective safety tape is the better choice because it bounces back light from headlamps rather than relying on a charge.
What widths and lengths are available?
Green glow tape runs from 1.0cm up to 5.0cm wide, and other colours come in 2.0cm, 3.0cm and 5.0cm. Roll lengths start at 2m and go up to longer rolls; full width × length pricing is listed on each product page.
